So for the whole of this week the internet is beyond useless for anything but .co.nz websites, I have been running speed tests to sydney and have been getting 120ms during the day and over 7000ms after 6pm.  Isn't this what was happening in July?  Didn't vodafone say they would fix this issue?  Well it looks like they haven't done much since its back again.

Trace Routes are useless since they come back fine but loading a website could take 5 minutes, it just hangs and after a minute or two loads at speed.  Same with speed tests it could take 5 minutes for the latency test to finish.

It looks as though I'm not alone on this one after looking at the High Latency thread on Vodafone NZ Forums.

I agree, I'm in chch at my parents house and they are on vodafone and the nets useless after 5pm. I cant believe Vodafone are allowed to charge people for broadband when their service is so bad. The only reason my parents are connected to Vodafone is because of the mysky HDI deal.

I'm use to my ultra fast connection in Auckland on orcon, no matter what time of the day it is it's fast. I can download at peak times at 1300 kb/s, ill be lucky to even load a page on Vodafone.

It just goes to show how little investment Vodafone put into equipment to make sure they can handle traffic at peak times. Smaller telco's can do it, I dont know why one of the biggest telco's in NZ cant.

Yeah, it's running like s___t. It seems especially prevalent on European and UK based sites. The tracerts for those are getting pings of over 300ms per hop.

I noticed it especially since last night.

Give it time, I have restarted my Modem numerous times and it seems better for a couple hours then BOOM! right back where I was before.

Working fine with me tonight :)

The only thing I have come across is local speeds are pretty bad, the net is usable with me, Skype works, that's all that matters with me.

All ISP's have issues every now and again, they are working on the issues and just need a bit of time to figure out where the problem is. With a Network this big it can sometimes be quite difficult to find out where the network bottleneck is. At least you have all still got internet, you can still get onto Geekzone and complain.

I do agree that no feedback from Vodafone is bad customer service, but just thank god we have still got internet.

It is rather interesting that vodafone are having these huge issues like a couple months ago, I was on telecom for the last 3-5 years and have had nothing but good service except their phone staff are kinda hopeless but the broadband was sweet as, no slow down at peak times.

We all remember Go Large and Big Time, that's a issue right?
The complaints over that? Telecom not saying anything?
I will stop now. </rant>

I have had good service from Vodafone too, their CSR's actually call me back, they talk English, and I also logged a fault for this problem. They are working on it, that is all.

My Vodafone internet is playing up tonight!  2000ms ping to Auckland wtf!  Google isn't even loading fast.  I took me around 5 mins just to log on to this.  Just checked again working ok still slow for websites but not on speedtest!  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
