It is less than a month away and the only information I'm getting about Vodafone being the preferred provider is on the PS website? http://nz.playstation.com/psvita/news/articles/detail/item451853/PS-Vita-connects-with-Vodafone/?WT.mc_id=pdcticker

Will NZ be one of the countries to receive a SIM card with the 3G version?
Will there be any special plans exclusive to the Vita?
Will existing VF customers get a better deal than others?
Will there be a discount on the device for signing up into a contract?

Can anybody shed some light on this matter?

In other words, wait at least another day for said deals to be made public...

I think the simple answer is that if Vodafone don't do a special deal then you can just pull out the Vodafone SIM that comes with them and put in another carriers SIM. Unless of course Sony decide to lock it down.

According to a post in the Gaming forum, a GZer has already put an XT SIM in one and it works A-OK.  But no special XT plans so you may as well top up on VF and take the freebies.

Yeah I read on NZ gamer that it would not be locked to any network.

It will be interesting to see how fast they will chew through the data.

But now here's my next question. If I take advantage of Vodafone's tablet plan of 512mb per month for $10 ($20 if you're not on one of their eligible plans) do I still get Wipeout or do I have to still top up an extra $20.
Please be aware that on order to receive this deal you must sign up for a year.

Don't get me wrong I'm not really complaining about a pretty awesome game for $20 plus a free 200mb of data ;) It would just make things easier if I could go straight on a plan and not have to worry too much about running out of data.

P.S. if you didn't notice the wink I do realise it's a free game and you can get 200mb for $20.

Oh and FYI if anyone is interested the wifi only version is on today's Dick Deals for $397 including Ashphalt. I feel that puts it on par with JB's current deal.
