I saw a tweet from Vodafone plugging their new mobile website, so I clicked on the linky and what I saw wasn't pretty - I'm viewing on WP7.5 on an HTC Trophy, using the native IE. How does it look on other phones/devices?

Mobile site renders good on the default Android browser (ICS) on a Sony Xperia Ray.

Same result on HTC Titan. looks like Vodafone only made it work fine on webkit based browsers. Microsoft\|Outlook\|Skydrive\|Windows Live Admin Center\|Skype\|Office Web Apps\|Office 365\| Windows Phone\|Windows 8\|Xbox\|Hyper-V\|Office2013\|Bing\|Security Essentials\|Server 2012

Hi all, we have had a look and as the upgrade wasnt designed for windows phones we have made some changes, meaning that while you will not get the new feel of the mobisite you retian all the functionality you were used to. Our design team are aware of this situation and will continue to try get a better experience for you. Technical explanation: Windows Phone's IE doesn't respect {meta name="viewport" /} sizing tags (used on the site) properly - it only works for a limited range for some weird reason. You have to use Microsoft's old {meta name="MobileOptimized" /} as well. (Replace curvy braces with the correct < and > tags) IE10 on Windows Phone 8 supports @-ms-viewport CSS rule (from the proposed @viewport rule) which does the same thing, which people might want to consider later on. EDIT: Corrected to American spelling So the technical explanation is that deliberately, or by ignoring it, they didn't write the site to run on WP7.5's version of IE. Probably not a huge target market to ignore, but an overwhelming geeky one as far as I can tell.

I think it's safe to say that the interest in that platform is growing noticeably, and certainly awareness around here is being promoted, especially by the social media team who are seeing all the questions and feedback and in turn reporting that back. I would hope that we will be in a better position to address this kind of thing in the not too distant future.
