I remember paying $40 per month for dial up. Let's put into perspective, for what we can do now I think BB is great value for money. Lets look at all the other bills, food, electricity, petrol. We are paying more but is the value any better than it was 10 years ago?

I am more confused over your post! You have not even told us what you are confused about fixed line or mobile?

Most plans are any NZ network minutes, NZbestmate is to any network, Vodafone Family is very clear

Data bundles are easy to understand if you know the difference between MB & GB, If you don't not our fault but happy to explain if you wish

No i didn't start it to troll. just saying its expensive.

Heres an idea, once someone has a sim why not charge say 60$ a top up And give them say 500$ worth of phone calls at the rate per minute you decide and 2 Gb (not mb) of data that runs out in a month.

I'm inclined to agree that the current structure is built around making customers predict their usage with overage charges if they go over their prediction and unnecessary payments if they go under.

For example, instead of paying, say $25 for 500 MB, I'd rather pay $0.05/MB. If I only use 200 MB that month then I wouldn't "penalised". Likewise if I were to use more than usual then I wouldn't be paying overage at the more-expensive casual rate.

Bring back a "traditional" prepaid offering rather than this "monthly prepaid" that we have now!

Edit: I should point out that I understand why they don't do this, but I'm still in favour of it :)

That sounds like confusion waiting to happen. If you've $60 worth of credit on there then by definition you'd get $60 worth of calling. If you said that you got "$500 worth" of calls then they'd probably just hike calls from 49c/minute up to $4/minute to compensate too.

$60 top up $500 credit and I have decided at $125 per minute, Does that suit you?

So we charge a per minute rate and that is confusing?

When I try to compare Aussie plans with NZ ones I find it next to impossible because all the prices are in "Vodafone dollars" instead of AUD! That's the last thing I want to see here.

Like i said works pretty well in Aussie, but you do get 1000$ worth of calls and 3 GB of data for the month.

FYI only snakes i have seen in 2 years of going there for a month at a time have been the ones i have gone looking for, they sure know your around.
