Hi,

Continue from my last question,

I found a mobile broadband plan from Telstra that AUD 79 for device and 5G data for 30 days.

I wonder whether can I use this device back in NZ on either Telecom or Vodafone.

Would it be carrier locked? Would the frequencies compatible?

Cheers

Shin

If you want to know if it's SIM locked ask the carrier you are purchasing it from please

Not sure why these questions keep getting asked in the Vodafone NZ section when we have a generic device / hardware section on Geekzone under " Smart devices "

Ask Telstra if it's locked.

If it's a Telstra device then it's a better fit for Telecom than Vodafone.

Hi shen,

If this device is bought from Telstra it will most certainly be locked (I deal with this on a daily basis) .
You should be able to obtain an unlock code from them, however they may charge you an unlocking fee.

Since this is a Telstra Next G , it would work best on Telecom XT .

Cheers

Yes it will definetley work on the Telecom 3G network - because I have the exact same device.

You will need a Telecom 3G SIM.

AND you will need to get the device unlocked. Telstra wanted too much to unlock mine, so someone else did it for, I think, A$15.

May I know where would they do the unlocks in New Zealand or Australia other than Telstra?
