The only issue I'm aware of is the small one with dialling between digits 3 and 4 too slowly. This means it thinks the number is a 3 digit PBX extension rather than 7 digits. I have created a 2nd dialplan that doesn't suffer from this issue, but lacks the ability to dial 3 digit extensions if you are using a PBX. *Need help configuring your Linksys ATA or IP Phones for New Zealand? One comment of someone who used the provisioning from this thread: it took me a very long time to figure out that my phone didn't answer any more because of the auth invite issue. Should have read the whole thread perhaps... My suggestion is to turn auth invite off, or perhaps better, leave it out of this provisioning. And I'm on 2talk, so at minimum this should be mentioned on the blog post. I thought I could dismiss the italk warning, but it's an issue with 2talk as well. And secondly, it does not disable inbound calls as the phone still rings (in my case, with one number enabled), but it doesn't answer anymore. I.e. I could pick it up, but it didn't answer the call.

Due to the discussions here and your blog I must have enabled it manually. In that case please amend your blog that it also doesn't work with 2talk.

Hi Steve, can you post your 2nd dial plan as the olds who stay at my Motel are a tad slow with their digits and keep telling me the phones are not working... Cheers JimBo

I've made a small change to the original file to fix the ringtone cadence and have changed the busy tone to timeout after 30 seconds. I've also created two additional files: http://nzvoipzone.com/spacustom.cfg This file has no ability to dial 3 digit numbers except for numbers in the 100-199 range. This avoids the issue of a delay after the 3rd digit. http://nzvoipzone.com/spapbx.cfg This is a copy of the spacustom file but has a predigit of 1 loaded before all number ranges so 1 can be used as a predigit / escape digit if you are using a PBX and want to use this. As always I accept no guarantee for any issues these cause and they are certainly not recommended for a production environment unless you're capable of testing them to determine they do exactly what you want them to do! Brilliant. Thanks Steve. I have changed to the custom one as I found if I was dialling a local number on the phone I naturally pause between digits 3 and 4. Quite why I don't know! Galaxy SIII, Galaxy Note 10.1, ASUS UX31e Ultrabook, Mysky HDi, 2talk

One thing I have noticed Steve is that the Linksys AG310 doesnt have a FXS port impedance of 370+620\|\|310nF in the drop down list and so it reverts back to the default setting of 600. Would that be anything to worry about or just leave it as is?

In earlier Linksys devices the correct NZ impedance of 370+620\|\|310nF was supported in the menu options. Recent Linksys firmware upgrades for routers and ATA's have removed this feature - in effect Cisco/Linksys have removed the correct setting for NZ and there is no way to force this option. I was speaking to Maverick about this a few days ago, his recommendation is to use 600 ohm. Exactly why Linksys have removed the correct setting is strange. The standard we use in NZ is also known as the BT standard and is the same standard used in the UK. For an FXO port (ie interfacing to a landline) an impedance mismatch has the potential to cause significant issues. For an FXS port (analogue phont to ATA) it won't create as much of an issue. *Need help configuring your Linksys ATA or IP Phones for New Zealand? Check my blog post

Another thing that is useful is to have a dial plan that works for your local area: I changed [2-9]xxxxxx to <:09>[2-9]xxxxxx so it works for Auckland. Obviously change "09" to your region.

I'm unsure why you have changed that. This pattern match exists only for 7 digit local numbers 0[34679][0-9]xxxxxx Picks up all 03,04,06,07 and 09 toll calls along with 0900 numbers. *Need help configuring your Linksys ATA or IP Phones for New Zealand? It's already taken care of, you have 7 digit local dialling with this with no pdd you now have taken out 7 digit local dialing, National dialing is already taken care of in his dial plan with this section 0[34679][0-9]xxxxxx\| Yes I am a employee of WxC (My Profile) ... but I do have my own opinions as well

Why ??? Because you have to dial 09 in front of your number with this dial plan. With my change you can simply dial a local number like a land line allows you to do.
