WRT54G v2 with Tomato firmware - runs without a hitch.

I like Tomato because the UI is faster and more usable than dd-wrt. It probably has fewer features, but nothing I want or need is missing.

I'm happy to report that I've had a Belkin F5D8230-4 for 2.5 years and it's performace has been rock solid both with the SB4100 and SB5101 modems.

Currently running firmware version 1.01.04.

Got a D-Link DI-624 here and it works completely fine with the SB5101 modem.

I've recently replaced my old faulty Belkin 'Basic' with a brand new 'Airport Extreme Dual-Frequency' model - the latest firmware for download is 7.5.2 and you'll be prompted by the 'Airport Utility' when you load it up (it checks automatically). I've stressed tested them over the last couple of days and no problems have appeared. The download speed is great, latency is low and quick DNS resolutions - awesome all around.

Apple Airport Extreme

Which model? What firmware?

There are several models of AAE, plus the Time Capsule which includes the functionality as a subset.

My mother-in-law is using a Time Capsule and it seems to work fine. Certainly no daily resets as elsewhere reported.

(I use an old PC running FreeBSD)

Did we really need to bump a 2 year old thread with lots of info that's out of date now?

Yes because it would be nice if the original post was kept up to date; such as the DNS settings one should use or the compatible routers etc. It should be, in other words the one stop FAQ for any issues relating to TelstraClear before making a new thread.
