I'm having trouble viewing streaming video from overseas.
eg
http://cablenews.i-cable.com/webapps/news_video/index.php?news_id=317749

The video would lag and buffer a lot. It is a 500Kb/s stream and speedtest.net does show I have enough bandwidth to support it.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I don't think there is any way to "fix" this. It's just how it is.

My guess is that the problem is due to congestion, with more people wanting to download content than there is available capacity. Really, the only options you have are to:

1. Try downloading at a different time (eg: when people are in bed, or at work)
2. Get your internet from a different ISP

I'm with TelstraClear too, and agree that this is a real nuisance.

FYI - There's a related thread about YouTube streaming performance issues on this site. TelstraClear representatives said they will provide an update on their investigation into the problem. There's currently 3 pages of discussion. Refer:

Thanks. Youtube for me is variable, sometimes it is good and sometimes it is bad. However, icable lags no matter when I view the site.
