I signed up for the Homeplan like on the day after the announcement.
It's nearly a month now, and they said it will take another few weeks to switch.

Plus the Youtube issue is still not sorted.

If they don't get their act together I'm going to switch.

I only found out about Homeplan last week and eagerly called up to change (from the old PDQ etc) about last thursday. The guy on the phone told me there would be a bit of a wait due to it's popularity - no worries I thought. But he then told me I wouldn't be switched over till the end of January! :o That's pretty much two full months!

How is everyone else getting on with their switch? I can completely understand delays due to popularity of the new plans or whatever, but two months seems a little extreme. Is anyone else having the same experience?

I rang TC a month ago to change to Homeplan and got the impression something would happen reasonably quickly. I rang a week or so later and was fobbed off: they couldn't give me any idea when the change might occur. Yesterday I got a letter from Steve Jackson, Head of Consumer Markets saying that "... orders are taking a little longer than we expected to process" and my upgrade request "...is now scheduled to take place in January."

Three months! I know Telecom customers who were upgraded to the equivalent plan in 2 days.

There is something funny going on here, I'd say.

Telstra should, at least, be investigated for misleading advertising.

Switching to an ISP who can process your requests in less than 3 months is looking more and more attractive.

I Rang TC early in November to change from PDQ to homeplan and was told i would be changing over at the end of my billing cycle (23 Nov). I was happy at that but on Monday i got a letter that now states that it will place in January 2010.

NOT HAPPY ..... NOT HAPPY.

My parents are switching to the new Home Plan also, they got a letter the other day saying they can not be connected until sometime next month due to overwhelming demand. Bit poor in my book, they should have processes in place to have people quickly switched.

Same thing happened here.. Was told on the phone it'll be done in a couple of days - was about 5 days from my plan reset for the month.. Then Friday got a letter stating due to popular demand it wont be done till Jan.. Pretty pathetic IMHO..

I seem to remember that when Sky released MySkyHDi they had a backlog over a month long as well however it does seem somewhat suspect that no one has turned up here saying that they have had it installed.

Is it a case of the queue is very long and they are working though it or are they just not admitting that they currently cannot install Homeplan?

Presumably the change over from Telecom wholesale equipment to Telstra equipment in the exchange involves Chorus and I've been hearing speeds for these kinds of changes are not so great since the Vision Stream thing happened.

What i don't understand is why its such a big delay.

I mean, theres nothing changing about our line, its all internal.
We're on FS/FS, staying on FS/FS.
Interleaving is staying off
We already have our phone line with them

So all thats changing, is we're changing to 25gb packs instead of 10gb, and we're getting the unlimited calls. Why is this such a big deal?
It should simply be a virtual switch to change the plan type/billing, and its done? No physical stuff to change
