Hi everyone.

As promised, the latest version of the T-Box software has finished QA testing and is now available. Your T-Box will automatically update.

You can check the software version from the General tab of the Settings menu (System details/IPG version). The new version  is 2.9.26.

If you find that you don’t have this version over the next 24 hours, re-booting your T-Box will force it to check the network and update. Please follow any prompts.

We continue to note your posts and are grateful for your feedback and patience.

Thanks very much Gary. Have just recycled my T-Box and modem after switching on to the "Not subscribed" padlock. Update was applied after acknowledgement of the onscreen prompt. Version now shows as 2.9.26. OS Version 03072012-54.

Fingers and toes crossed all round I guessing ;-) It is great to get this update, so thanks for all the work you and your colleagues have put into this.

Thanks Lance. As always, all feedback is welcome!

If your T-Box hasn't yet upgraded, please note that at one point during the upgrade the screen will go blank for a few minutes and the T-box will appear inactive. This is normal and the 'updating' icon will reappear.

OMG Gary,

This is getting ridiculous!!!

Did no-one notice during QA testing that the volume control only now works on some channels!

This is pretty basic stuff.

Oh. I only changed one channel from startup on TV1, and didn't pay any attention to the volume being much lower on Vibe. So yes, you're right. I can verify there is indeed a volume problem.

Thanks for verifying this for me.  I am not at home now but it looks to me that on the channels listed as HD, ie. 1,2,3,20 etc that the volume control does not work at all until you get to zero volume, and on channels such as vibe it works as expected?

Hi,

Can you please let us know what make and model of TV you have where the volume difference is being experienced, and also whether the T-Box is directly connected to the TV or is connected through an AV amp etc (and, if so, the make and model of the equipment).

If you do have a TV where the volume appears to be an issue, you should have the T-Box remote at 100% volume (best to do this on a non-HD channel like Prime) and then control volume via the TV's remote.

I have a sony 40" LCD TV, I don't know the model at the moment, and it is directly connected to the t-box via hdmi.  I tried unplugging the hdmi cable and re-inserting but it made no difference.

I have never had hdmi issues with my TV before with the t-box.  i.e. the volume has always been fine before today.

Gary,

Just to clarify, the problem is not that the volume is lower on some channels than others, this is just a consequence of the fact that the volume control is working on some channels, i.e. vibe and so the volume is lower.  If you change the volume on vibe it works as expected.  However, on 1,2 and 3 for example the volume control does not work at all.  Changing the volume on these channels makes no difference at all and I am guessing they are always at 100%, so the channels where it does not work are louder.

I hope this makes more sense.

The HDMI output from my T-Box goes to an HDMI switch which outputs optical audio into my A/V amp. The video is passed through the switch to my TV (Sony KLV-40S400A). I always have the TV sound muted.
