Sweet! I have switched to the .43 and .44 DNS servers. Things appear to be a tad quicker!

I've been trying to figure which DNS server to use and when I look on Telstra's website all I can find is: Paradise Primary DNS 203.96.152.4 Paradise Secondary DNS 203.96.152.12 am I looking in the wrong place? where is the info about the 203.97.78.43/203.97.78.44 DNS servers?

I've also been experiencing intermittent delays with TCL Cable access to International websites today and tonight. It's great to have this site confirm that other TCL customers are having the same issue today. It's not just me! The problem occurs when using .4 /.12 DNS ...or... recommended .43/.44. Logged a fault on this site, as requested earlier.

Now I'm trying to figure out how the hell to get it fixed. So far I've managed to waste some l3 time in t.au (who were kind enough to respond to my aunog posting) but how to wake up/find someone in pacnet to fix it... I wish I knew more about how to investigate the problem properly so I could have done more testing myself first to just more correctly id the fault and take it up with the correct provider. It's not fair on Telstra Australia that I'm wasting their time with a fault that's not their fault (from what I understand at this point). D Promote New Zealand - Get yourself a .kiwi.nz domain name!!! Check out mine - i.am.a.can.do.kiwi.nz

Trust me, that thought had occurred to me as well.... back to the days of providers transiting everything via the .us from isp1.nz to isp2.nz just because it's cheaper to do hand over in .us peering. Sort of crap just pisses me off to be honest. In my case it's just 1 site that's impacted, and I can hit the same site in 55ms via Wellington so if it really annoys me enough I'll figure out how to route traffic for 1 IP over a vpn link... I was trying to do the right thing by anyone else who was hosting content on the remote network, who's performance has fallen over, to this market, due to a routing issue. Currently I can pull the site off my mobile phone faster.... that's just whack. D Promote New Zealand - Get yourself a .kiwi.nz domain name!!! Check out mine - i.am.a.can.do.kiwi.nz

How are your guys net going today ? Myself and a friend are still have problems. Its very clear its international and a site can be working fine one min then just not respond the next min and half load. I've been on the admin side of a wordpress site today and just cant do work like this. I cant see it been a DNS problem as this tread has turned into.... ? And why is it not listed on their site if was put on twitter ? I was embarrassed because I talked to my host and pushed that my connection is fine and it was there server having the problem.

The fact yr wp site is slow has nothing to do with dns. My connection is fine today. The routing issue I was having got fixed by pn.hk with some help from aunog/t.au (I couldn't even get the fault anywhere near noc@tc.nz or noc@pn (which is the wrong address now as well...) I've been pulling data of Debian mirrors today and not had issues but it's not quick - seemed to be limited to 3.8mbit, but who knows where the bottleneck is, I didn't look. wp is a mine field. the latest wp updates push mysql and apache past the memory allocation on my vps, and once it hits vm/diskIO it goes pear shape real fast. Prove that you have free mem - use top. Prove the disk IO isn't an issue. Without some urls and more details being much more help isn't really possible. Its not just some wordpress sites that makes me post this. And both of us I talk about dont work on the same server. Thanks for the reply. And I also did say I dont think its DNS related. We noticed a little better but not right yet. Just dont want Telstra to think all is better now. My PBX hasnt had a problem. Its trucked to Auckland.

International speeds have been terrible for me from Wellington for the past couple of evenings. 0.2 - 0.3Mbps, often dropping out all together. Not quite the 25Mbps I'm paying for... National traffic is fine 15 - 22Mbps. I've logged the fault here.

Speeds are still rubbish in Wellington for me too. Often so slow Gmail stops working and sites won't load at all. It's been like this for over a week now. I logged the fault here as well as with the TC helpdesk and provided them with tracert reports this evening.
