With Vodafone and now Telecom increasing their data allowances for no extra cost to their customers, TelstraClear's 25GB maximum usage pack is looking pretty shabby...

Any chance that TelstraClear might move on this issue?

I'd be in for more than 40GB a month, mainly used on local TV on demand content.

Yes, I've always managed to live comfortably within 25GB, but this is one of the not-so-hidden extra costs of the Christchurch earthquake -- with an extra family member living here, I invariably go over the limit on the last few days of each month.

Looking forward to hearing about this "exciting" in the pipeline. but not holding my breath,,,
Im a chch cable user and rate the cable service better than dsl, its a pity i stopped paying you money for an actual phone line.

Do these "exciting" things also apply to cable broadband? (given this thread is obviously about ADSL) And will we see it this century?

I'm wondering if they will finally bring unlimited toll calls to customer's on the cable network, they been there for Telecom Wholesale customers for a while now

I did when I worked there, a couple of times. I tell you, the 45 minute wait was not fun.

45 mins. Bliss. I am not a fan of the overseas call centres as they lack the ability to make decisions and appear to have limited knowledge.... "I will just put you on hold for 2 mins" ...after every one minute of talking... Arrggh I dread having to call the Helpdesk. To be fair they are friendly enough, but quite impersonal and artificial at times.

My record for waiting with TCL was some years ago...and for an NZ based call centre ..nearly 3 hours so I just watched TV and left phone on speaker... Still having mixed performance with my T-Box. Next major issue will see it returned to TCL.

Seems that Slingshot are launching an all-you-can-eat broadband plan for $40 for the first 6 months, then $80 per month.  And they say that some of their customers are using a terabyte or more per month.  See http://www.techday.co.nz/start-up/news/slingshot-re-launches-limitless-broadband/20737/8/

Well Im currently with ACS-Online for internet (10GB int / 100GB nat - Cable @$92) but have been thinking of moving back to Telstra for some time now as ACS have not updated their plans in years. (apparently Telstra haven’t updated their wholesale plans)

If Telstra they can offer large caps for a good price I’m interested, I would prob swap out SkyHDi as well.
  I don’t care about speed, what’s the point of having a 10 or 100mbit connection if you can’t use it.
