im not sure if there is some connection here but i used to get google calendar sms notifications on my TC mobile phone but now i dont. google say the only carrier they support in nz is vodafone so im wondering if TC are no longer using this network - would that be the reason im no longer getting notifications.

i can still get sms from twitter feeds, just not google calendar

ive been into my s2 settings and selected vodafone as the network operator but it doesnt seem to help

is anyone else getting google calendar notifications?

Let's step back a little.

- Are you still sending and receiving voice calls on the same phone number with the same SIM?
- Are you still sending and receiving SMS on the same phone number with the same SIM?

If you answered YES then nothing changed. And for what is worth I don't think anything has changed, except perhaps the way Google is sending messages. They say the only supported one is Vodafone - their support probably doesn't even know what a MVNO is (Google's consumer support is attrocious).

Odd, before I moved to Australia I had GCal notifications going to my 027 number on XT. Have you tried clearing it and re-verifying?

I've noticed on some occasions the SMS alerts get delayed by a (large) number of hours.

TCL is a MVNO on the Vodafone NZ network they can't call 777 or send BAL to 777 so routing is different between the 2 carriers,

TCL customers can't use Vodafone shortcodes 77, 713 (Vodafone Blacklist) ETC

not sure how thats connected but the reason i mentioned it was more that (i think) some carriers block shortcode messages e.g. verification codes but thanks anyway

ok yes to both (i realise number porting can sometimes cause issues) so maybe the issue is with google. ill do some testing with other phones and other networks. thanks :)

It will not be a handset issue if you can get other SMS
