Topic # 57882 27-Feb-2010 20:18 Send private message

Ultimately, I want the ability to watch ANY type of video on my xbox360, which will hopefully mean I can decomission my xbox/xbmc.

So, now that I have W7 HP x64, I was hoping I could use WMC to access my NAS where all of my content is stored. But, I have found that I have a slight problem, MS thought that indexing networked storage is not important, and secondly they decided that using 'libraries' would be the best way to keep order of my content.

Third problem I have, is that when WMC does connect to the NAS, it does not seem to access all of the content. Some times it will 'see' 20 files, then 50, then 25, then 16 and so on. Which ofcourse pisses the 360 right off.

Does anyone know of a way, that I can get around the indexing issue?

Does anyone know how to get WMC to see the files on the NAS, and just keep it at that?

Working offline, with my NAS is not an option, as whats the point in having a NAS if you are just going to have it all back on the desktop anyway.

For now, I will give TVersity a go.

does your NAS support iSCSI? If so, then deliver the storage as an iSCSI LUN and windows will treat it like any other hard drive
