A black bar at the top of a mostly white page, catches the eye and I decided it had to go.  It wasn't a normal toolbar and I didn't see any options to remove it so I'm a bit puzzled.

Googling this problem I surprisingly found 100% opposition to this obtrusive *new* thing, but no solution.  Strangely no comment from Google.  It wasn't really important, until I couldn't remove it, now it is my mission in life - just joking... but I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.

Why on Earth didn't Google provide an option button to toggle the visibility of the thing?
Deleting cookies doesn't work, using several other browsers also no luck, nor writing.

How dare you challenge the wisdom of our Google overlords. If they deem you shall have a black bar, then a black bar you shall have.

I think there is an option in the settings to use "Google Classic"...am yet to check it out as I personally like the black bar.

Yea, not everyone likes change. I thought it was a bit weird when it first appeared but now I am used to it. Everyone will get used to it, you just have to wait as I don't think they are going to change it.
Even when Facebook changed their layout/design etc everyone didn't like it but most are now used to it! : )
