Waiting for my unit to arrive in NZ from YouShop now. First thing I am going to do is run Windows update on it, to upgrade Office 2013 previw to RTM and other perfornance updates.

Wow... Office is thrown back to the desktop? That is a huge design problem.

Workstation: Intel DH67CL ~ i5-2500 ~ 4GB Corsair RAM (x2) ~ Intel X25-M 80GB SSD

Laptop: Dell Inspiron 1564 ~ i5-520M ~ 4.00GB RAM ~ 500GB SATA HDD ~ Win7 Home Premium x64

Common misconceptions.

Mine should arrive on Monday or Tuesday. I'm not sure if it will be an good. I really love onenote so I guess time will tell. The reviews have been so mixed its hard to say how I will find it. I have been running Windows 8 on my laptop for a while and have got used to the Bipolar nature of the 2 interfaces...

billgates:(Win RT)

Shouldn't that be "Windows RT"? - wouldn't want to mix it up with WinRT == Windows Runtime, a different beast entirely.  Confusing yes, but you of all people should know this Bill :P

Well the surface has arrived. I am very impressed. I don't quite know what I was expecting, but I am pretty blown away. There have been so many average reviews that frankly all boil down to the lack of apps which will be resolved with time...

If you are on the fence but thinking about it... I would say go for it... :)

Still waiting for mine. Did you order yours via YouShop as well @chris021? Hopefully I get mine tomorrow. Still have not received an email from NZ Post stating that it's even in NZ! My last parcel was also delivered on a Tuesday from YouShop. Received an email that morning that it has arrived in the country and 2 hours later, had the delivery in Hamilton.

My credit card was charged by microsoft store, but when I look on FedEx at the tracking# I was sent "invalid tracking number".  If I log into the store, the order is not in my history.  I got the 'shipping confirmation' email on the 30th (a week ago).  Might pay to check yours...

ok, rang the ms store.  they told me it was being delivered  by UPS, not FedEx as the shipping email said.... and its due to reach Portland Oregon by end of today.  as to the order not showing up in the store, he said it was a timing thing - not sure why it would take over a week to show up in an online shop though...

will be interesting to see how long it takes to get from Oregon to Auckland.
