I just downloaded windows 8 and I found an update.  I tried to install it. It said "Update Failed" and had an the following error code: "80073712"  If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!  I really need help and these forums is all I can think of.  Thank you.

Is your PC date and time set correctly, including timezone?

Wow can't believe the timezone is now important for Windows Update! It is important in a domain network though.

Correct timezone is not a requirement for Windows Update. It's a requirement for SSL connections though.

My Timezone is set to: (UTC+12:00 Auckland, Wellington. Is that right? I live in Christchurch, so I think its ok?
