I am trying to get Backtrack 5 R3 running on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 6400).  I am running it from the live DVD and it starts up fine and I get the initial boot menu but when I go any further than that nothing displays on the laptop’s LCD except for lines and patterns.  When I plug in an external monitor it displays fine on that so clearly there is some sort of compatibility issue between Backtrack and the laptop LCD display or video card (Nvidia GeForce).

Anyone got any ideas on how I can fix this? I don’t really want to install it to the Hard disk unless I know I can get it to work and it does work with VMware but this disables the wireless adapter, which I don’t want to happen.
