upgrade (but i formatted it to 10.6 about a month before hand and didnt install much on it, chrome, gdrive), just a standard 2011 MBP, ive never upgraded any of its hardware. www.reven.co.nz

I'm also on a 2011 MBP and haven't had a single crash (clean install). Uptime is at 41 days :)

I have installed 10.8 Server onto a machine the other day as a test server, I found that it wouldn't let me add in proxy details which isn't a huge problem as we are about to biff our proxy server but it is still a hassle.

I'd love to tell you what I think. However, Apple in their Infinite Loop - sorry, I mean wisdom - have decided that my perfectly good Mac Pro 1,1 won't run ML. My MB Air and my wife's Mac Mini both would, but I don't want to have a situation where we are running more than one OS in the house.

Not directly related to OS X 10.8 but having used it for awhile now i really dislike the unified search url bar in safari. If you do anything with IP addresses it always gets it wrong. Say you type in 192.168.1.1/ it will do a google search even though it is a valid URL. The other issue is say you want to do a google search for a IP Address to see where it comes from and if it is on any ban lists. It will now just take you to the address. Which of cause is the last thing i want to do. Also they removed the http:// so now i can not just click on the url bar and type in s to get https://. Sure people no longer need to enter in http but it does make things easier to keep it there. Also the tab management is just wrong. I used to double click on the tab bar and i could get a new tab. now I have to go right to the other end of the screen. Also if you have more than the bar can hold. The old version would give you a drop down with the tabs off the screen, and the one's on the screen. Really helpful so that you could read the full title. Now it only shows the drop offs. It reminders me of the time they put the tab bar up the top and removed the loading bar. I just hope they did what they did that time and go back to how it was before in the next release.

I fully agree agree with you, working in a technical environment I am connecting to local devices via web browsers a lot and I have either had to bookmark or use firefox

Seems likea an oppertune time to ask, what does (if at all) everyone use for NTFS support. I'm still running my 2010 MBP with 10.6 in 32bit mode with NTFS 3G. There are paided versions but has anyone tried these with 10.8? nzbnw

I actually quite like it, but maybe I don't do the same as you with it. I have no idea what a 'ban list' is. I wish they'd pay as much attention to the clunky kludge that is iTunes as they do to Safari!

I actually quite like it, but maybe I don't do the same as you with it. I have no idea what a 'ban list' is. I wish they'd pay as much attention to the clunky kludge that is iTunes as they do to Safari! I feel the same about iTunes as well i just hope it gets better in iTunes 11. I think you will find that they do spend quite a lot of time on iTunes I think the issue is a lot of legacy code. As they can much more readily remove(like RSS support) and fix things in Safari. Where as if Apple removed support of the first iPod or the first iTunes Store DRM version there would be a backlash. The only difference is that iTunes was bad before. Where as Safari was working fine before. For me it's a case of if i wanted Safari to be more like Chrome then i would go with Chrome. A ban list is a list of bad activity that has been logged against an IP address from other web sites. Often referred to as a blacklist.

One thing that should be really straightforward in iTunes is playing one album by an artist from beginning to end. However, unless you search the library right down to that album and exclude all else, it won't do that. That one 'feature' alone has always annoyed me! Another is the inability to simply join the EQ setting to the genre allocated to the track, so that it switches automatically. An obvious thing to do - and to Apple, very simple I am sure - but why, still, can you not do it?!

My major pain point with Mountain Lion is the Mail app. Its performance has suffered significantly since the upgrade, with multi-second lag on UI operations quite common. The only reason I persist with it is because I need the functionality provided by the DockStar plug-in, which helps me to easily separate out notifications for personal, work, and server alert emails.
