So I am considering upgrading the RAM in my late 2009 Imac 21.5", Core 2 Duo 3.06.

The system has 4 memory slots upgradeable to a total of 16GB Ram.
Currently 4GB installed, 2x 2GB modules, with 2x spare bays.

Considering upgrading to 8GB RAM, 2x 4GB modules, and removing the existing 2x 2GB modules.

The apple store price is $320 for 4GB, $640 for 8GB.

Searching Ebay, I found a seller who specialises in RAM, and I can pickup 2x 4GB modules for $82.95USD including shipping, or around $110 NZD landed.

They have a positive feedback rating of 99.8%, and over 10,000 sales.

Has anyone installed RAM other than genuine Apple RAM, and will I void my extended applecare warranty by installing RAM other than genuine Apple?

Cheers.

Replacing RAM does not void warranty.
