Yeah, but we accept you.

Tolerance is not about agreeing with something it is about allowing things you don't agree with to exist in a peaceful way.

I hate hard boiled eggs; always have, always will. The mere thought of the texture of the yoke makes my mouth pucker. And it is a waste of a perfectly good egg in my view.

However, I have decided to accept that hard boiled eggs are just a part of the world I am going to have to live with.

One of my favourite quotes is:

Living in a democracy is the art of putting up with sh** you don't like.

Like it or not you accept gay relationships, glad to have you with us.

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

Ok, "Natural" means it's nature's way, and yes eating a husband is normal and happens, as humans we have this criminalized. Same thing with same sex relationships, it's normal, it happens in nature as well, but they are not legally allowed to get married like others.

Second thing, sexual preference is not about "learning" however, yes we do learn from nature, most of our inventions are based on that bare idea.

Update:

And yes, we are animals, you said we evolved, that's good, pigs are no fish and fish are no birds. What's your point????

My point is that by using the word natural I mean physically and “mechanically” its just does not work. Never has, and never will. Gay couples are not natural. Maybe thats not the word, but its not the norm for obvious reasons.

Gay and Lesbian couples cannot make children. Their offspring cannot have the DNA of both parents like a “normal” child baring relationship can. I see it as them asking for rights to something nature does not allow.

So yes I see gay relationships as unnatural. Its got nothing to do with the way I was brought up, or my religion. Maybe its just that part of me that shudders when I see two guys together, makes me ill. (Sorry if that offends, but its how I feel) And I know that many heterosexual men feel the same. Allowing gay marriage is not going to solve the problem about society not accepting it.  Many people including myself will never accept it.

Just my view. Go on shoot me down ...

:) lol @ shoot me down. It's not like that mate, you have your own way and beliefs. It's fine,  we disagree with each other and have different ways seeing the world, but that doesn't mean that I will shoot you down, nor deny you the right (which I have) to express yourself freely.

So, do you agree with what I just said??? Then all you need to do is do the same with gay couples. Their way of seeing the world is different than me and you, and me and you also disagree with them on the sausages vs tacos concept. But that doesn't mean we should deny them the right to do as we do >>>> Marriage, the ultimate choice to fudge up your own life.

Nature is a BH anyway, it makes people and land then volcano (as a verb lol) them out of there.

tardtasticx: People are born gay or straight. It's not a choice. IT is a choice though if you want to tell people or act on it and live a lie. This needs to be ruled out of the debate because it is simply not true to say it is a choice, whether people want to accept it or not.

How isn't it valid o argue for gay marriage on the basis they are born gay?

You are right it is a valid arguement, if people were born gay it would be extremely unfair to deny them the right to a civil union or marriage.

I dispute that there is no choice.

What evidence do you have that there is a choice in sexual orientation?
I know for a fact that I didn't chose to be gay. I've known since I was like 6 or something that I didn't like girls. And as I've grown up I've realised what I actually was and it felt right.

Did you wake up when you were a teen and decide "Damn feel like getting me a lady and marrying her for the sole purpose of pro-creating"?

Didn't think so. Move along.

Well you think its un-natural, but if its possible for us to do something, then its obviously meant to be. We weren't meant to fly, nature didn't give us wings. Does that make planes un-natural? We weren't meant to yell to the other end of the world, thats why we have telephones. Is that un-natural too?

Ask any homosexual out there. Same with any heterosexual person.
I just told you, I did not choose.

Did you?

So being gay is a technological advance? You still haven't provided any evidence that being gay is not a choice.

BraaiGuy: Gay couples are not natural. Maybe thats not the word, but its not the norm for obvious reasons.

Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking are not the norm either. Some would even describe their level of intelligence as unnatural. Incorrect.

Being gay is natural enough. There is plenty of gayness in nature. So why should a gay couple be any different? Well, they are not different. There are gay couples in nature as well. So yes - gay couples are natural. Sure, they don't get married in nature. That is part of what makes us human.

Youre entitled to your opinion, and I defend your right to it 100%

What youre not entitled to is to attempt to deny the rights of others based on your self admitted prejudices.

Bigots make me shudder and feel ill, much as the gays make you feel. Bigotry is icky and wrong (IMHO). however I do not seek to deny you the right to marry the one you love if you choose to do so (or anything else for that matter).

I know this is slightly off topic. But anybody here thought of Incest. Surely brothers and sisters that want to marry and have children have the same rights?

I would have given it a thought if they have spoken up and demanded their rights based on valid points.
