I got a phone call from my sister-in-law today. My nephew ordered a phone online from a place called The Mobilestore about 3 weeks ago, and are still yet to receive the goods or any notification that they have been shipped. Has anyone here had any dealings with this company?

I see that their website is now no longer taking orders, which is alarm bell no.1 for me. Apparently they are not responding to emails, and the phone number on the order acknowledgement email they received is not being answered. And sadly, she made a direct bank deposit rather than using her credit card, so a chargeback is not an option.

I got the following whois information, which provides a mobile number and address which I'll be passing on to her, but if anyone else has any information about this company, I'd really appreciate it.

admin_contact_name: Terry
admin_contact_address1: 234 Edmonton road Te Atatu South
admin_contact_city: Auckland
admin_contact_country: NZ (NEW ZEALAND)
admin_contact_phone: +64 21 986868
admin_contact_email: terry@idealpc.co.nz

If it's "The Mobile Store" that appears on the companies office site, then the sole directory is a Chun Dong, and they've only been around since May, it's registered at 27 Cityview Place Massey.

Hope it wasn't an expensive phone...

"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your".  "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There".  You probably mean "lose" not "loose".  There's no such word as "Alot".

Thanks. It was around $540 (Sony Xperia S). I tried to talk him into a Huawei G300, which he could've got from a bricks and mortar retailer for around 1/2 that, but he preferred the look of the Sony. Maybe now he'll know next time to listen to his Uncle :-)

Thanks, that gives us alternative contact details to try. Here's hoping my nephew didn't just learn a $540 lesson.

Yeah, my sister-in-law said they found a bunch of complaints after they googled the company when they first started suspecting things were not going to plan.

So Terry is probably the generic English name that Chun has chosen to use, so the companies office details is probably for him or a relative.

Seriously, people shouldn't buy from local parallel importers. If it's not a big name (Amazon, Expansys) I wouldn't touch.

Ah, thought that name sounded familiar.... Ideal Technologies is the other name for their PC sales...

Pretty much an item **might** turn up....but be the wrong one. Took them weeks to send us a stick of RAM, and it was the wrong stick when it finally turned up... tried returning it to get swapped but never heard back from them.

Sorry for the lack of link coding.

The Cityview Place address is a family home way out in the burbs, was only built in the past 3 years.

Thanks for all the help here, guys. I've passed all the information on to my sister-in-law, along with a link to this thread just in case any more helpful info comes to light.

I only buy from local parallel import stores with an actual physical shop. Lets you inspect the product and you get it right there and then and only from the "bigger" PL import stores.

(As for warrenty, havn't had to try that yet, hopefully it wouldn't be issue/won't come up)
