Not sure if anybody else has seen the ads on TV? Saw it for the first time last night and just heard it on the radio aswell. Went to the website and they have the TV advert up.

Does anybody know what it is? Launching a product? Maybe a massive sale or something?

Hell it even has a countdown timer :D

since it gives 2 dates rather than one, then I would guess it isn't a product launch. probably a large weekend sale or some such

Is it the date they finally get rid of their TV voiceover guy and drop their advert volume back to something below 130dB?

May be a spin off from  what they are doing in Australia? No Harvey - but you never know - usually we follow what happens over there. (See the KFC Promos etc a week or 4 before NZ)

I hope it includes a standalone 3D bluray player really cheap. One that includes wifi and youtube, and maybe skype if possible. And really cheap, did I mention that already?

It will be some sale. You're buying into their hype, so the advertising is working.

Yeah I want to know what it is all about now. Hopefully they do have some massive discounts.

Their mark-up is so high that even after a discount it's still expensive (this is their PC / gaming department).

As others have pointed out the problem with Harvey Norman is their high margins and inflated retail prices. It's vary rare to ever find a true "bargain" there.

While looking around at HP laptops a few weeks ago I found prices around 30% higher than Ascent sell the same models for online, so their 25% off sale was pointless. Pricing on small value items and accessorries is typically up to 50% more than you'll find at other retailers. Home appliance prices are always negotiable, with their white ticket pricing typically representing an inflated RRP which is why everything always has a vidid market crossing it out. If you can't negitiate at least 15% - 20% off the ticketed price of a big ticket item it's safe to say you got ripped off.

Black Friday in the US on the other hand is an amazing day with true bargains

Laughing I agree, the voiceover guy is too loud. Maybe that is the day they retire him.

Seriously though, it's linked under promos, so maybe their "biggest" ever sale?

Will that be bigger than the Godfrey's biggest ever sale?

ROFL!! I bet it's nowhere near as special as Briscoe's biggest ever sales.
