Absolutely sure, 100%.


And both batteries were the same type? Not mixed with another brand?


Yep - both were Sony AA-LR6's, and were put into the remote at the same time straight out of the box.

Pity you weren't using Sanyo Eneloop AA Batteries - they wouldn't have exploded.

Looks like the "sony"s at dollar stores. No idea how genuine or not they are but there is a massive problem of fake sony batteries around south america and other places.

Zippity: Pity you weren't using Sanyo Eneloop AA Batteries - they wouldn't have exploded.


These eneloop batteries are awesome.  I totally recommend them.

I wouldnt recommend eneloops for remotes - payback period will be aproaching never when compared with box lots of alkalines from bunnings, and the 1.2v really hammers the range that a remote gets.

They were from Noel Leemings - standard stock I think (box of 20). Got them when they were running a 2-for-1 deal.
