I'm so tired of the way media has attached to this guy like an oracle. It turns me off to the point I'd just about do the opposite of anything this guy says.

Hmmm. Yes, like Kim Dotcom?

Seriously, some of these guys have great PR behind them...

I suppose so, and I think these two are using media for their goals.
Gareth strikes me as a person wanting "to be seen" as a leader, using the media for self promotion.
Kim on the other hand is in it for revenge - the media and public opinion being just one of the many tools to end his goal.

Personally I think Kim deserves revenge for being treated like some sort of heavily armed drug baron mafia boss. I find the whole concept of the FBI being able to take down servers and destroy the content regardless of whether it is illegal or not to be bizarre: they could not, for example, raid a library and destroy work in it not related to their case and owned by third parties, so why they should be able to do that when the information is digital rather than physical I do not know.

Morgan OTOH seems like someone who just enjoys controversy.

Nice to see that the cat thing is already on his Wikipedia page!

ajobbins: Gareth Morgan the Kiwi-saver

He should buy an island or a zoo then.

Once that is done we can get some interesting stuff in. I'm up for Mountain Lion, Bighorn Sheep, Grey Wolves, Bison, Golden Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Alpine Choughs and coyotes.

I was going to post this as well. What an absolute idiot to be calling fans of the cub he owns pathetic. Absolute clown.

I think anyone objecting to the original message are reacting to the hyperbolic title and the images it conjures up rather than the actual issue. Nothing originally said is objectionable or unreasonable as an opinion backed by facts. Whether there will be substantial improvements or just minor ones are the question. Stating people not get a new cat is not the same as euthanizing them.

Is that a Maine Coon?

I used to have 2 of them. Mine used to catch rats and squirrels mostly!
