Good to know. I've read both the first 3 books from Dan Brown and I must say I got a little bit disappointed with the first movie.

I loved In Bruges - Liked Colin Farrel - He showed a bit more depth to his acting other than hollywood star - Any movie with a random little person twist is always a winner with my sense of humour (Death at a Funeral for example)

Tahii: I've just got out of the theatre from seeing Angels and Demons. Fully action packed. For those of you who have read the book, it follows the books plot pretty well, with only a few changes, and only one of the changes has any real impact. Only thing I didn't like is that some of the terminology around the Catholic church isn't explained as well in the movie as it is in the book, so some of you who haven't read the book might get a little lost, but it all explains itself in the end.

8.5/10.

I have to disagree with you totally. The movie completely changed the plot of the book. While the same basic premise was there, whole new characters were introduced that didn't need to be, large sections (including most of the first half of the book) were removed which made the plot less cohesive, several major plot twists which made the book great were removed, and whats this with the fourth Cardinal living? Thats going to bug me for weeks. The acting was pretty sub par, little or no emotion from Tom Hanks, Ayelet Zurer was a big disappointment. Her accent changed between scenes, sometimes it was thick Italian, sometimes American, sometimes who knows. She never seemed to react to what was happening around her, than again neither did Tom Hanks. The only positive I can think of for this movie was the lengths they went to to re-create the Sistine Chapel and various other famous landmarks.

I would highly reccommend reading the book if you see this movie. All the terminology (as Tahii noted) is explained better, there is more character building, the relationships between characters are explored in more depth and the plot actually makes sense. I know not to expect much from books turned into movies, but this was a new low. If you like big budget but thoughtless action flicks than you'll like Angels and Demons, just don't read the book.

2.0/10

PS: Check out IMDB.com, very few positive reviews...
PPS: Sorry for the rant, this film just rubbed me the wrong way...

Oh look! There is a movie thread going! I think I will post in it! (LOL)

The Man From Earth - great movie - loved it.

Entirely set as a conversation between half a dozen people in a small home. Quite thought provoking.

Actual acting and production etc sucked the kumara, and I guess a (much longer) novel would have been way better again.

But yeah... still a great movie.

Sounds good Tony, will keep my eyes peeled for it!

I like movies that are strong on good dialogue... "Tape" comes to mind, just three actors in a seedy hotel room (Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and some other dude).

A classic from my childhood, just picked it up cheap the other day.

Saw The Last Supper last night. Not bad... some good dark humor in there, some good ROFL moments. Gets a bit OTT but it doesn't ruin it.

Transporter 3 - it was better than Transporter 2 (which was actually crap), but still not better than Transporter 1

My verdict - Timepass

Watched Spaceballs last night for the first time in about 15 years. Still pretty funny.
