Hush. New thriller, was rather average unfortunately. The trailer looked really interesting but the movie didnt deliver. Felt like i had seen it all before.

Adventureland: Not so much a comedy as i was expecting, more a drama than anything else. It was a good watch though.

Primer. Yep finally got around to watching it. Interesting take on time travel, definitely needs 100% attention throughout! I went to the official site to try and get a further insight into what i had just seen, aparently theres 9 timelines runing through that.. Check it out here (you will wish you didn't.. lol)

Terminator Salvation - Long, boring. Plot holes the size of the grand canyon and bad SFX, a let down :-(

Transformers 2 - Another movie that didnt really do much for me, un-needed fight scenes that didnt add to the story line. (If you could really call it a story line). Humor that wasnt funny, only 2 real funny parts. A shame as Transformers 1 was great :-)

Harry Potter 6 - BORING - nothing like the book, added scenes that really didnt go with the actuall story line. Hardly any reference to the half blood prince and the book. Huge fight scene at the end of the book not even in the movie. Too much time wasted at the beginning of the movie on things that shouldnt have been in it in the first place.

I wondered this, I haven't read the book but the entire movie seemed like a big build up to nothing/the next movie. The exclusion of no fight scene explains alot, also the hardly any reference to the half blood prince. Thanks for clearing this up.

I went last Friday to see Harry Potter. 4pm session, five people in the cinema. The worst. movie. ever. Shame I can't get my money or life back.

The bad news is the director that did the current movie is signed on for the next couple of movies... hopefully it's not more of the same :-(

The other annoying part is that each movie keeps changing things around, i.e. Hogwarts looks different in each movie.

I think they have really made a mess of the whole thing and should of kept on the same director/producer for all the films.

Ditto, he/she came in about the 3rd film didn't he/she? You could tell the difference and it's been disappointing.

I saw Transformers I on TV3 Mon night in glorious HD.  I haev this movie on DVD but not in HD... what a difference!  THere was almost too much to see for every action packed scene.  I don't yet have a Blu Ray player but I have a 1080p projector.  The picture quality was truly awesome.

Does anyone know what quality the HD signal was on the night?  My damn Freeview HD box (Extra Terrestrial) doesn't tell me the signal resolution for every channel.  I check when I'm at friend's houses and I find most HD shows are only 720p.  I could swear the signal was 1080i for transformers as I've never seen anything so awesome before on the projector.

Even the HD Demo channel 100 is only in 720p all the time so all those full HD Tvs in Harvey Norman are just showing 720p if they are on Freeview!!!

I would really like to know if someone noticed the resolution on freeview terrestrial just out of curiosity... yes this makes me a geek... but I don't care, I have to know!!!!!

TV1 & TV2 broadcast in 720p only. TV3 is 1080i only. SD content on these channels is upscaled to the channel resolution.

skyhigh, there is around the same amount of information being sent be it 720p or 1080i.

720p is a lower resolution but the whole picture is updated every frame. 1080i is a higher resolution but only half the picture is updated every frame (every second line).

The end result is that they look much the same on the screen. I seem to remember that 1080i is better for fast moving stuff like sports.

If you think DVB-T is good you have to borrow or rent a PS3 and try a bluray. If you rent a PS3 from your local video store just make sure you connect if via HDMI. When I wanted to rent a PS3 a couple of years ago they only had composite connection cables for it!!
