The Hangover - was actually much better than I initially thought, thoroughly enjoyable!

Adamal: Went and saw Avatar in 3D last night. The 3D effects totally immerse you in the story and almost make you forget that you're looking at fiction.

Only problem I had was that they had issues with the right eye projector, and it would blank out for a couple of seconds at the time, and when it came back, the focus was borked. This felt really uncomfortable for my eyes

Were you at the 1.30PM Imax  on Dec 27??  I was same problem.

Enjoyed the movie though.  Great 3D.  Rumor has it that the Star Trek sequel will be in 3D as well after JJ Abrams saw Avatar,

No Country For Old Men. Was pleasently suprised, bar the ending. But i enjoyed it overall.
Requiem For A Dream.  Different, which is so my bag..

Looking forward to watching Gladiator, finally.

I saw it a couple of days ago with the whole family. First 3D movie that I felt the 3D really added to the immersion. Will be interested to see what it is like when not in 3D. Truly spectacular. I found the story of the natives very good. The corporate storyline was a little stretched but you could believe it. When it came to the mercenaries taking the package to the tree of souls I thought it was getting very strained. Still think it is a solid 9/10

Sherlock Holmes - 7/10. OK movie, great TV/DVD movie, but would rather have saved my movie dollars for something else. Like Avatar 3D. Avatar 3D is still getting sold-out sessions ( at Albany anyway - 6.45pm on New Years day). Thought everyone had left Auckland for the holidays !!

Saw Avatar in Dunedin last Thurs, really pissed off to find it's not 3D in Dunedin :(

Really enjoyed it, but will have to go again when I'm back in Chch - for the 3D experience

Now based in Perth WA.

Check out my blog, and photos I have taken in my travels.

Any comments or posts are not necessarily the opinion of my employer - who are bloody marvelous by the way.

The new Chipmunks movie - My Kids seamed to enjoy it. Me: not so much. Songs I enjoyed though. I usually enjoy a good animated "kids" flick. But for some reason, not these squeaky ones.
Had a new watching experience though - Watched it in the bean-bag theatre at sylvia park as only front row left in normal theatre when we arrived. Was pleasantly surprised how comfortable and large they are. You get 2 people allocated to 1 bag but I had me in the middle of one and my 2 kids either side (5 & 7 yo) another family had 2 adults 3 kids !! they seamed happy.

TIP: give them a good few shoves and punches before you jump on, to get them more chair-like (they start off more giant pillow-like, and we were just staring at the ceiling!) edit - I mean the been bag not the other family :)

Avatar 3D: Terrible plot, terrible dialogue, questionable score. Incredible 3D and visually spectacular. See it now!

The Dark Knight - Blu-ray: Watched this at the in-law's place on their 50" 1080p Samsung TV. OMG it was amazing looking. Again, the story is full of plot holes and it is susceptible to all superhero movie flaws, but in HD it is also visually stunning. Didn't suffer from the usual over-grainyness of some HD movies that I've seen either. All images were mega-crisp and colourful. See it on Blu-ray if you can :)
