GeekGuy:
ajobbins: The Lovely Bones - Long, but a very good movie

Just watched it and thought it was ok... and btw, Peter Jackson was in one of the scenes !
He was looking through a movie camera where the father collected the last roll of film to be developed. It reminded me of trying to spot Alfred Hitchcock in all of his old movies.

Peter makes an appearance in almost all of his movies.

freitasm: Just watched Ronin on DVD (again, I have it and watch every few months). Very good movie and if you haven't seen the car chase scene, then you are missing something...

+1 for Ronin and car chase scene !

Avatar - anyone had issues with the 3D glasses fitting over normal prescription glasses ? The 3D glasses look quite compact. Mind you, didn't have any issues with the 3D glasses when I watched Final Destination 3D.
Are they the same 3D glasses / 3D technology ?

The article in today's Herald wasn't very flattering about Avatar. Might as well p!ss into the wind, it's at the box office takings is where the proof of the pudding is :-)

Saw 98% of the movie until my daughter decided she was bored and kick up a stink so i dragged her out...:-p

Well done, but story was a bit average....but guess it was based on a 10 page kids story :)

Just yesterday we read the story to Bella, and commented between us (mummy and daddy) how could they possibly make a 90 minutes long movie out of a ten page book with one or two sentences in each page?

The King of Kong: documentary about a couple of blokes attempting to break the 20+ year old record high score of Donkey Kong. A good watch even if you're not an arcade game fan (my wife enjoyed it).

Ice Age: Dawn of Dinosaurs - better than the second, in my opinion. 6/10
Mr. 3000 on TV - Bernie Mac is always good. 7/10

Went to see Sherlock Holmes today, a great romp of a movie and Robert Downey Jnr's performance was inspired. Probably thanks to his past, but I believe he got the mad genius thing down.......

The Frog and the Princess. Both kids loved it, though the 3 year old was initially scared of the voodoo doctor, the Shadow Man. The 5 year old really appreciated the slapstick frog hunt in the middle. Classic Disney - 9/10.

Also the Lovely Bones. Great movie, thought some of the heaven scenes were a bit unnecessary though cutting them might have reduced the significance of some of the important heaven scenes. Give PJ benefit of the doubt - another 9/10.

Avatar (3D) - Amazing looking movie - story was what I expected but still enjoyable.
The 3D wasnt as in your face as everyone was making it out to be, mainly subtle little things such as dust, embers etc floating past etc, along with some of the computer displays etc.

Its a movie that you wish was VR instead so you could wander around Pandora yourself...... amazing scenery :)
