I agree totally Fantastic Mr Fox is pretty good I had no idea about how it was gonna look or anything about the movie prior to watching it and enjoyed it very much.  Have seen it a few times now (too many kids sigh...)

Hammerer: I watched Taken starring Liam Neeson - about an American girl being kidnapped by criminals in Paris. The theme is harrowing if you think about those trapped in that situation in the real world.

It is funny you should say that - I watched that film in December - the night before our 15 year old went off to Germany on a school exchange trip.

It suffice to say that my other half did not sleep that night.

Watched Black Dynamite now... A spoof of old blaxploitation movies from the early 70s. Quite funny really.

Just watched caddyshack, terrible movie. Not recommended at all.

Watched The Informant with Matt Damon the other day, quite an interesting movie seeing it is based on a true story. Probably give it a 6/10

Also watched The Invention of Lying, quite funny and entertaining. Not the greatest script or writing but very watchable, give it 7/10

Alice in Wonderland - Detail in the movie was brilliant (anyone notice what was holding the candles and chandeliers ?) - story wasnt the Alice I grew up with but still the basics were there :)

8/10

9 - Not the dance movie thing thats out...but the animated film partly produced by Tim Burton. I really enjoyed it, post-apocalyptic type story with some unusual characters. Ending was slightly disappointing. Not for kids as it is a bit dark and some of the "creatures" may give the younger ones a fright.

8/10

I have seen 2012 not too bad effects were really well done however it was let down by the acting (shame too as had some good actors in it). Some of the scenes although well done were too unbelievable. 8 or 9 /10 for effects 6 / 10 for acting 7 / 10 overall (please note would be less but has one of my favourite actors in it (Woody Harrelson)

Watched The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1300851/) after reading reviews of the first one and how great this one was.

What a waste of time, bandwidth and money... 4/10.

Great Scott!

Since the last time I posted here, I saw a bunch of movies. Worthy of mention:

Alice in Wonderland 3D - Creepy, not Anne Hathaway's best performance, no one could have done the Mad Hatter better. Except maybe Christopher Walken. And Doc Brown. 8/10 for not being what I expected, in a good way.

Up in the Air - Quite good. Not a comedy, but it has its funny moments. 8/10.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - It has been a while since I actually laughed hard on an animation flick. The smart jokes in it definitely appeal to adults while the slapstick stuff catered to the kids. Not just another CGI. 9/10
