Waltz with Bashir is excellent. We watched the DVD version - the cinema release was a couple of years ago - and we really appreciated the whole thing: graphics, music, storyline, humour, and history...

It is animated autobiography about the film maker who can't remember anything from his time in the Israeli army twenty years earlier. He contacts others who were there and the truth is gradually revealed.

Saw G.I.Joe: Rise of the Cobra and Year One during the easter break.

Year One was much better than G.I.Joe.

The Bourne Supremacy - I have found the Bourne Series very good. Matt Damon does a fantastic job, although I do not like him in other movies he pulls it off as this charactor. 4 out of 5 stars from me.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - I am making an effort to view older movies that I missed viewing. This one was a very well made movie and while sad at times is very interesting and very well acted. 4 out of 5 stars from me.

Gone with the Wind - Again an oldie but not so much a goodie for me. Have so far watched 1/2 of it as Fatso only sent one of the discs. It is 4 hours long and though well made I am finding it a hard watch. 2 out of 5 stars so far.

Just watched Cop Out last night, we (the wife and I) really like it.  Funny and a bit of action thrown in for good measure.  Had a very lethal weapon feel about though.

I too watched Cop Out a day or two ago. You have pretty much summed it up well. I watched I Love You Man last night. If you get past all the sexual referrences every five minutes the movie is very funny.

The Road: Watched this last week and loved it. I've always been a fan of dystopian imagery and stories, but I've never seen anything that resonated with me as much as this film. The cinematography is so bleak and depressing, even hopeless. The story was very compelling, and the acting by Viggo Mortensen and his on-screen son were 2nd to none. This is a very tense movie in some parts, but I highly recommend it. I read half of the book in a matter of hours on the flight back to Melbourne from Wellington last week. I can recommend the book too, it's superb!

Hottub Time Machine: Give it a miss, this movie is utter crap. That's all I can say about it :)

'Boy' - absolute genius with a huge huge heart. Competely un-selfconscious kiwi film of real international quality.

Sounds like the perfect antidote to 'The Road'.

Indeed, can't wait to see this.  Hopefully it's still on when I get back to NZ at the end of May.  In the meantime I'm off to see How To Train Your Dragon at iMax this coming weekend, can't wait!!

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. (2009)
I got this cause of the cast Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Tom Waits and Heath Ledger to just name a few. Read in a review it pays to watch it more than once. I could just barely get through it the first time.

Alice in Wonderland (2010)Now this director did it right, twisted fantasy but done in the right way.

Clash of the Titans: I was hoping it would have some nice fighting scenes like 300 but really Clash of the Titans was just your average action flick.

gehenna: In the meantime I'm off to see How To Train Your Dragon at iMax this coming weekend, can't wait!!

Well, okay, I saw How To Train Your Dragon tonight at IMAX Melbourne.  I am speechless.  This was my first IMAX experience and from the moment the first trailer came on (Titanic 3D) I was hooked.  The 2nd trailer was for Hubble 3D and it looked INCREDIBLE.  But as for the main feature, I've not seen as entertaining an animated film since....well I don't remember when!  It was in a league of it's own, and I just don't know what to say other than go see it!  IF you have access to IMAX then definitely go see it there, it's an amazing experience!

Clash of the Titans 2D:  I actually forgot that I saw this at the Embassy in Wellington last week, which is an indictment on the quality of the film I'm sure.  It was a bit of fun, to be sure, but by and large it was rubbish and only good for a laugh.  Steer clear, and from what I hear if you must go do NOT go to the 3D post-conversion screening....I hear nothing but bad things.  We shouldn't be supporting post-conversion IMO....shot in 3D or no 3D at all I reckon!  I hate the fact that studios are rushing to post-convert based on Avatar.  'nuff said.
