Saw Sleepless in Seattle (1993) for the first time last night. Not as good as You've Got Mail (1998) but fun. Intersting seeing some places in Seattle and New York which I had visited about that same year. And the clothes. And cars...

Looking forward to watching The Professional (1994) tonight.

ahh Leon the Professional, one of the all time greats. Shawshank Redemption is another wonderful movie and if you like that style of narrated movie then another must see is The Usual Suspects (1994)

We watched In The Valley of Leah last night. Interesting story - not sure about acting but not bad...

I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall a few weeks ago.  Slightly slow to start, but once it got rolling it got funnier and funnier.  Highly recommend it for a light hearted night in.

As for Shawshank Redemption and Leon (aka The Professional) - probably my two favourite movies!  Some magnificent performances Leon, especially by a very young Natalie Portman.

Chuck Norris has abolished the periodic table of elements. The only element he recognises is the element of surprise!

Hellboy some time ago but the other day I saw Hellboy 2 on DVD - I enjoyed both but rate the first film higher.

Another film based on a comic stip but this was one of the better examples of a transition to the movies.

Mirrors - Good for bit of a scare to start with but becomes a bit predicatbale towards the end as most horrors are these days.

Hitman - Based on the game, but actually enjoyable for a action blast. I rank it higher than the Max Payne movie.

Watched American Gangster the other day - loved it.

Ridley Scott directed and Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington in the two main roles. Both did fantastic jobs - Crowe as a drug-squad detective but without the over-the-top heroics of many movie cops. Washington was a drug baron and while these guys probably have to be tough and violent the movie focused on how he set up his organisation and imported his drugs. So if you're after a violent gangster/police movie it's not for you - it's more about the plot which is based on a true story from the late 60s/early 70s.

A long movie but doesn't seem it.

Made of Honour
(Patrick Dempsey & Michelle Monaghan)
Absolute rubbish.  Was hoping the totally predictable ending would be at least be overshadowed by a funny rest of the movie, but alas the rest of the movie was bad also.

2/10

I loved Quantum Of Solace and Casino Royale. This dark side of Bond, all action/business is the Bond that Ian Fleming wanted from the start . We've been treated to years  of the wishy washy, swathe, ladies man type of Bond and the recent years with Pierce Brosnan just didnt cut it for me.

As for old school, extracted The Last Of The Mohicans from the archives to watch last night. One of my all time favorites.
