jofizz: Sione's Wedding last night on telly, tivo'd of course. First time I have seen it.
What a bad movie, abandoned after about 35 minutes. Perhaps piracy was not the only reason the movie bombed at the box office!

Except it didn't bomb at the box office. In the first three weeks it took $2.2 million in NZ and $3 million in Australia. A box office record for an NZ film. Who knows since then?

Personally I enjoyed it and I'd give it a solid 7 (including a + 1 for being a kiwi film). It was filmed in six weeks which is also a bit of an achievement. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the next one.

Tucker & Dale vs Evil - funny, enjoyed it.

50/50 - really good. believable series of events and feel-good.

Drive - confusing (not the plot but the way the movie was...) but somehow awesome? Really different movie watching experience that my wife really liked. Good ending.

Great Scott!

I found Drive to be a wonderful movie, but with a crappy ending (execution-wise).

Rented I Saw The Devil on my Apple TV last night.  Part of me wishes I hadn't, but the other part is blown away by the quality of Koren cinema and storytelling.

This movie isn't for the faint hearted, it deals with some extreme subject matter.  If you've seen Oldboy you'll sort of know what I'm talking about.

IMDB Link

"When his pregnant fiancee becomes the latest victim of a serial killer, a secret agent blurs the line between good and evil in his pursuit of revenge."

Saw Today's Special last night. Not a bad "feel good" movie, easy to watch. 7/10.

Bunraku 2.5/10 - Had high hopes as made my some of the same people that did 'Sin City', and some biggish names as actors like Demi Moore, Josh Hartnett, and Woody Harrelson.  I like funky movies but this one transcended very quickly into a silly comic book.  Some cool fight scenes but apart from that overall just silly.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the English one with Daniel Craig). Fully enjoyed it and will happily watch it again. Not as good as the book, but a pretty good rendition IMO. I hope they do the next two as they are better books.
I'd give it a solid 8/10

It doesn't look like it was made by any of the same people, I think it was just compared to Sin City a lot.

Phone Booth - 2/10

Had to force myself to keep gong, which is never a good sign. I'll admit I switched it off half way through.

Just watched Ides of March... Dirty politics which is not a surprise, starts slow but there's a moment things click and you think "He's gonna do this and that"... I give it a 7.5/10.
