Watched 21 Jump Street at the movies....really enjoyed it. One scene so funny I spat some jaffas out from laughing to hard. A similarish style to superbad but maybe a bit less crass. 8/10 for me.

Battleship, special effects pretty good, acting horrific at times, actually not bad at others, painfully corny and clich? but still a reasonable movie, 6.5/10

Hunger Games - Had heard good things, had too high expectations, good acting, reasonable action, didn't flow nicely in places and seems a little underdone, but 7.5/10 from me

The books are a trilogy, are the movies as well, or does the movie cover all three books? I presume movies are a trilogy too. I see the books were on special kindle edition on Amazon currently.

Amelie - again. I like the room to breathe that a lot of European movies have

I also enjoy a good action flick, but it wasn't to be last night ;)

Vampires Suck - spoof on the Twilight series... Ive never seen Twilight but still had the occasional giggle at this - overall give it a 6/10.

I finally got around to watching "Drive". Pretty bad seeing I am a projectionist, but I never get to see any movies :(

I thought it was pretty good. Very violent in certian places, but overall a good watch.

I watched Zombieland, I didn't think it was that good, ok, perhaps a 6.5 from me.

Saw Battleship with Wifey on Saturday. About 5 / 10. Plenty of good effects and naval ships cruising around but the story has full of holes..

Saw Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on Saturday with my lovely wife.

Good movie! I give it 7.5, mainly due to an excellent performance by Maggie Smith. Thought that many of the other characters didn't get developed much - will have to read the book.

The experience was marred by a gaggle of cackling women in the cinema, laughing at all the obvious crass jokes and not picking up the more subtle irony and dark humour - should have waited for the Blu-ray and seen it at home with a nice bottle of wine, and in our jim-jams.

Now based in Perth WA.

Check out my blog, and photos I have taken in my travels.

Any comments or posts are not necessarily the opinion of my employer - who are bloody marvelous by the way.

Took my son on Saturday also. In the Titan XE theatre at Reading it was really loud. Perhaps the volume had been set to account for sound absorbtion from the punters in the audience but on this Saturday afternoon there were only about 30 people in the entire theatre.

Agreed the SFX were really good and Brooklyn Decker (whom I had never heard of before) was a nice bonus :-)

The plot wasn't that important so long as the action kept on coming. In many ways I prefer this to the Transformer franchise since you can at least identify with most of the hardware being used rather than the scifi stuff the Transformers use.

Jumping the gun a little (only watched part one of two) and its not strictly a movie, but finally got round to watching the first part of "Alice" - unusual take on the Alice in Wonderland story but enjoyable :)

movanova I've just been going through the Resident Evil series myself on Bluray bought from a fellow GZ'er 1 and 3 are the better ones IMO (in my opinion). Still can't go past George Romero's Dawn of the Dead series though for Zombie movies although I loved Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead hmm Zombie anything really lol even terrible ones.

Hunger Games - enjoyed it but too many holes in it to make it a great movie and some "whoops" moments in editing and the sound effects department. I may read the book to fill in the gaps (I hope theyre filled in there).
6.5/10
