Hi all

Do we have many motorcyclists in our midst? I've recently attained my learners licence and a bike, loving it!

Anyone keen to meet up and do the following charity ride in southish Auckland next weekend? Sunday 26th April 2009

From here:
Charity Ride with Ewen Gilmour, arrive 10, to leave from Drury Performance Centre at 11, ride to Kaiawa for BBQ, then ride to Karaka Sports Complex to watch stunt rider, listen to Andrew Stroud then Ewen Gilmour. To register txt Anthony 0212252142, $20 per person, win 2 new Metzlers on the day, 2 new Dunlops on the day, also there will be a band playing. Laugh, ride, win. This event is to raise funds for Fergus Andrews who is severely disabled.

and also some info here

I plan to get out and about around the country on my bike in the near future, even though winter is coming - feel free to make yourself known along with your location and we may just meet somewhere.

If I pull a wheel off the Maxima does it count as a trike?

You will need to remove 2 wheels to go on this ride

The only thing missing from this thread is what bike everyone rides! Scot your sig says you have a 2009 Ninja 250R. I have the 08 650R (as seen in my avatar) and love it to bits Embarassed

I am away next weekend but would be keen on going on rides at othertimes.

BTW: Drop the L plate and don't, I repeat don't do 70 on the motorway. Either avoid it or do 100 km/h, death awaits you otherwise.

Finally the only real quesion missing from this thread, do you wave ;p

Just got my real licence, blue ewwwwwwwwww. The $400 and 25 demerits for no L plate is quite a deterrent!

I most definately do not sit on 70km/h, that is a death wish :-)

Wave / raise head depending on the situation, sure do. That was one of the first things I noticed on my first road ride, just about every other biker waves or acknowledges you in some way.

I ride a Hyosung GT250R, still on my restricted.

I hope you are not waving to Harley riders scott?

Indeed it is, never heard of any bikers actaully getting the fine tho. The L plate seems to induce some form of red mist on cage drivers and they attempt to hunt you down even more than usual.

Take a look at www.kiwibiker.co.nz for rides, general advice and the usual forum crap stirring
