Actually I'm interested to see. I've been riding since I was 17 (in England) and never been a speed demon. Will a larger engine make that much of a difference? I've never had a problem with the Hornet being underpowered - not sure how much difference the aftermarket exhaust it came with makes (Faddy Daddy - "It bellows out the sound so racy").

Once you get your full at least take a bigger bike for a test ride, you can always give it back at the end of the ride ;p

I have a friend who has owned bigger bikes who now seems content with a scooter. I guess it depends what you do with it though -- his is for commuting purposes.. I
I've had my full for some years now and toyed with buying a bigger bike (I'm still riding a Honda CD250). I've borrowed bigger, and test-driven bigger, but unless I'm hauling up SH1 (which I mostly don't do), I don't miss the extra power. It's fine for back roads where you're not really winding it up, surprisingly good up hills etc.
Highway cruising, I'd love a bigger bike, but most of the time the 250 is fine.

The only reason for me to get a 'bigger' bike is so my girlfriend can ride pillion!

Hey all, Im completely new here but i came across this thread while searching for acer stuff so i thought id join in.
How do you all stand on cruisers? I noticed the bikes are predominately road bikes, i ride a Suzuki VS1400 myself and am keen to join in rides when i can (Taupo is unfortunately a long way from everywhere).

Have added mine and the wifes bikes - took this on way back from cold kiwi last year

Hi, and a big welcome to GZ, while you have well noticed that most of us around here ride more sporty bikes, at the end of the day its all about being out on two wheels and experiencing a freedom that a tin top just cannot recreate, I dont care what bike someones on, the important thing is they are out doing it.

Was a good Kiwi this last one too, unfortunately my wife was unable to go with me this time, but my 14yr old son came with me, he enjoyed himself as did I.

Cheers
Cyril

I agree, its not what you ride, just that you do.
The wife and I started doing some work for the cold kiwi last year (helping with the site amongst others) and we try to do as many trips as we can when the kids are away (they are too young to come with, and i enjoy the peace and quiet anywyay)

I'd be keen of course. Also the Cold Duck is coming up in about 6 weeks if anyone is going that way, would be keen to meet up and convoy on over to Napier
