I was trying to use cat5e cable between two circuit boards, i put a dab of solder on the circuit board but couldnt get the solder to stick to the cat5 and it wouldnt stick at all when melting onto the dab of solder either.

anyone know what type of solder will work and if it can be done?

Flamer.

Yee olde standard DSE solder worked fine when I was soldering some Cat. 5 for a cheap remote safe opening job I did down here. Might need some more flux?

You shouldn't need extra flux for that sort of solider, I never had.
