I got a free sample of this pasta last Tuesday when I got a pizza.  The pizza was good but I also took one look at the pasta and threw it out.

I have a little Pizza Hut story too. Earlier this week I called up and ordered two pizzas. It came to $15.80. When I went to the shop to pick them up, the guy said that'd be $15.80 plus coupon. I said that I didn't have a coupon and he scolded me for not bringing one and told me to make sure I brought one next time. Great service there!

At least it's not like the Pizza Hut I went to 3 weeks ago. I ordered pizza over the internet using a coupon code on RetailMeNot.com. When I went to the store the guy told me that because I didn't have a coupon he would be charging full price.

Did you quote the coupon code to get the 2 Pizzas at this price?

peteinakl: I tried these when they first came out and actually thought they were pretty good.

The part that should concern you is that because they're made in Australia and shipped to NZ (in itself nuts) the contents fall under different rules - there's actually a lot of silicone in these, used to keep the cheese from sticking together.  Silicone.  It's used in tiny amounts for the pizza cheese, but in these pastas there's tons of it.

Silicone isn't food.

Do you know this for sure or is it mere speculation?

All grated cheese contains E460 as an anti caking agent which stops the cheese sticking together. This is used as an anti caking agent in numerous products and is actually a cellulose. It certainly is not silicone.

Both NZ and Australia fall under exactly the same FSANZ joint food standards - there are no "different" rules between both countries with the main exception that COO labelling is compulsary in AU and not here in NZ.

Pizza Hut's coupons specify they must be presented upon pickup.

I didn't have a coupon and never mentioned one. I just called up and ordered two pizzas.

I have to say that their Pizza quality has improved, whereas Hell's Pizza seems to have gone down the toilet.

I agree, and from memory so do the original founders as they brought their shares back after there were complains about quality and lack of topings with the new master franchise owners.

I like the Pizza hut pizzas, but the pasta is crap!

Do you know that with such authority because it was you which had your EFTPOS card siezed by Pizza Hut for not bringing coupons? Was that you?

That was Tony, and the outfit concerned was Dominos, if I recall correctly.

The Hell Pasta is awesome (mmmmm Spirit)! Nothing's attractive in a foil tray though - but luckily the taste makes up for that :P

It was indeed me, and it was the store manager of Dominos in Hastings who stole my credit card when he refused to sell a product to me at a previously agreed price (no mention of a coupon required, it was an internet offer), so, once he told me the transaction was off, I was like "ok, bye, give me card back", and he pocketed it, and told me he would not return it.

The Hastings police happily retrieved the stolen credit card from the manager of Dominos in Hastings, and in his admission in an email to me after the incident, he made a pretty thin apology, in which he also admitted to coming VERY close to losing his job over the incident.

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Dominos hastings!

Pizza Hutt pizza is terrible quality.

That pretty much leaves Hell. Quality is lessened lately, but its still nice.
