i just recieved a call from a guy called melvin asking for "mr joseph"
to i replied speaking, and was amused by the reply of, "im melvin from microsoft, are you a computer user... your pc is plugged in and recived alot of errors and malicious attacks"
to which i replied "what???, are you from telecom?"
and he replied "i work for windows"
i was fully amused now"and i just replied oh, im  on msdnaa for microsoft"
and he then replied "oh we just sell computers, its different to microsoft, what happens when you plug in your computer you get malicious..."
to which i replied uhm how can you see my private network,,, cause you cant... what the name of your busines" and then i got a stuttter and a hang up.

Anyones else got this? i wonder how many older folk they are conning, the convo was a bit longer than this because i found it entertaining I just cant be bothered typing it all out, but seriously wtf?

Yup, pretty nasty scam doing the rounds at the moment. Have heard of quite a few cases recently.

Had that at mums today as soon as I walked in.

They got as far as that they were from the somethingerother computer something and I just said good luck with that (somthing that will make the post get rejected) and hung up 5 digit caller ID that I cant remember and a shockingly bad effort at pronouncing the name.
