The public can now access the same high qualitiy aerial imagery of Christchurch that Police, Civil Defence, and other emergency services have been using to assess damage to the area.

The imagery of the city was taken on 24 February..

why is it, when you go to get the map they will only post it out?

Yeah I wondered that. It is a rather large 8GB file. You can crop certain areas and download that as a jpeg.

Yeah I used them to check out Redcliff's school. They had just built a wall at the back which stopped the rocks from rolling into the school. From the photos it looks very effective.
