I like VW ads they're different form the norm. This one is aimed at blokes so involves (dubious) physics... well surely theres an irony in that. Blokes are all keen to share their (dubious) expert knowledge of scientific and mechanical fiction......

And the other ad they run (Where Dad could have bought a new VW for the same price as his daughters wedding) is equally clever.

They work on a couple of levels by making fun of of stereotypes (which we think don't really exist) but are probably close enough to home for some of us to identify with (and pretend we don't).

LookingUp: Err no - not excusable.  The presenter is giving us a physics lesson and GETTING IT WRONG.  There is no excuse for that.


Erm it's a tv advert, not a lesson from a physics professor at uni.
