if this ever escaped.

A group of scientists is pushing to publish research about how they created a man-made flu virus that could potentially wipe out civilisation.  The deadly virus is a genetically tweaked version of the H5N1 bird flu strain, but is far more infectious and could pass easily between millions of people at a time.

Man has never held back from making evermore destructive weapons be they explosive, like the Atomic bomb, or biological so this is no surprise. If pushed they will be used as history shows. Hopefully they will now put as much effort into developing an antidote.

Seriously, the Black Death killed a third of Europe....

... and we are still here!

Cockroaches think that are all that but people on mass, as opposed to individual an individual person, are really hard to kill.

H1N1 killed only a few hundred people globally, most of these with existing health problems.

The last Ice Age is estimated to have killed two thirds of what at the time passed as humans...

... and we are still here!

The biggest threat to humans is actually themselves on an individual level. We eat too much, drink too much, smoke and don't ware seat belts. If we actually got any one of these through our thick heads and changed our behavior on mass there would be a real increase in how many people are around.

Go human race!

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?
