Be interesting to see if they paid tax on their earnings as well. Whatever you do you don't want to screw with the IRS.

Brendan 2. The Yanks should not be allowed to enforce THEIR laws in OUR jurisdiction. They were not voted in, and they can F-off. It's not their laws. It's based on international agreements http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_parties_to_international_copyright_agreements

Which from what I've seen looks like they have filed their correct tax forms If you check on the legal documents, they have hte names of the companies. Put them into companies.govt.nz and check them all out, has the full addresses of the mansions too Not sure how much longer they'll be up there, as most are pulled within 24 hours of a high profile court case I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

No I was talking about the IRS. If they get extradited to the us the IRS may want a cut of any revenue earnt there. One of the charges related to money laundering.

Are you saying that we should fund some vast bureaucracy tasked with checking everything everyone downloads against some vast database which is itself subject to error in order to protect the billionaire lifestyles of Hollywood executives? No, it requires you to know the law in countries in which you decide to live. If you move to a country you have an obligation to learn the laws there. You can decide to commit a crime in country A and then move to a country which does not recognise the laws of country A, think places where they don't recognise any laws as we know them. The thing is that most reasonable countries recognise each others laws because it stops people escaping to countries where they can get away from the consequences of their actions. Sure copyright law is broken and then entertainment industry need to figure out a way to deal with online distribution. This is not an argument against extradition. Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

People who code for open source programs, open office etc do it by choice with the full knownledge that it is for free, there is no expectation of commercial gain (unless through add on components, malware etc). The same can not be said for microsoft etc That in no way negates my argument and you should try again.

That is what we call a "Strawman Argument" - it is where you invent an argument that is weaker than the original, defeat this weaker version, and then claim victory. It is usually persecuted by those who are already defeated in a given debate. That way I can cut my wage bill in 1/2, have people work everyday of the week, no paid holidays, and if they start to complain or are a crap workers, I can fire them and there be no questions asked. You seem very confused about the difference between slavery and copyright law.

Yes but why isn't this being trialled in our NZ courts, the people are NZ citizens, living in New Zealand at the time of the alleged offenses, they didn't go to the USA to commit any crime so not sure how or why the US courts should have any jurisdiction on this matter.
