Haven't seen one of these in a while, but there's another one on now.  So far I've bought four of these and got (figuratively) crap.  Anyone ever had any luck with these (yeah, I know this discussion comes up once a year)?

Yeah one of the first ones I ever tried got me a Kodak digital camera for $10.  I obviously purchased a few more after that and never got anything but crap.  I decided to stop while I was ahead...

did it.

not too bothered if I only get something like lollies. it's the fun of getting a surprise present on a non-bday/xmas that makes it good.

2 years in a row I got some quite old rechargeable batteries, given their age and low mAh rating, I'd question if they'd sell for what I paid for them, but they work ok.

Have yet to come across anyone other than Satch up there who has got anything worthwhile.

"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your".  "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There".  You probably mean "lose" not "loose".  There's no such word as "Alot".

Ive partaken in this ritual the last 3 years and been burned the last 3 years, so this year i decided not too. If my memory is right ive scored some Shampoo, a sdcard mp3 player that surely came from the $2 shop and some plastic containers.

Mine has arrived and I scored a Energizer iPod charger (with lithium batteries) At first I thought oh great.. I dont have an iPod.

2nd thought was throw it in the drawer and its a Christmas present for someone.

3rd thought was Google it.. and happy days it will charge my iPhone and that is soooo a blessing. Fits perfectly. My biggest issue is when Im long haul travelling and my battery goes flat. I usually charge it off the laptop but if thats flat then Im sunk.

Bottom line?.....Im a happy chappy. :D

I would prefer to give the money that I would spend on that sort of thing, to charity. I did notice that they didn't really advertise anything particullly good this year, and last year people I know all got candy.

Yup, same.  Chapstick and a t-shirt that wont fit.  Woohoo.

Better to buy a lotto ticket, at least you then have the chance to win some decent money. I think both are forms of gambling though.
