nigelj: Okay, a report on Quickflix, finally purchased (using Mastercard) and with a new e-mail alias.

Haven't tried PC streaming yet, but I managed to get the Sony TV we have hooked up fine.

With a KDL40CX520 already registered to Sony (on their old site), I went to https://internet.sony.tv signed in, transferred the account to the new Sony Entertainment Network (https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/), in the Devices page, I clicked on the "My BRAVIA TV" device, Quickflix was listed as disabled, clicked "Enable" followed the prompts (including redirect to Quickflix NZ site), returned, clicked on "I've done it" and then on the TV selected "Refresh Network Content".

Pictures are pretty good on our slowish (2.5Mbit) connection too, so I'm impressed.  Bravo Quickflix, Bravo Sony.

I tried to follow the same steps, but when I got to the screen where you click on 'enable' it just took me back to another part of the SEN which was totally irrelevant.  annoying as I cannot get it to work.

Interesting, I had to enable pop-ups on the Sony site to allow the Quickflix login page to appear.  That said, SEN itself had quite a few issues for a long period this morning, so maybe it's having issues again sadly.

ArcticSilver: To everyone signing up, be warned that there is a further $8.50 one off charge, when you sign up.

Was not impressed when I saw this!

freitasm: For those looking for a trial... Just saw this on Twitter: the qfxlaunch code should give you 21 days of free service.

Brilliant - thanks for this freitasm.

Just a quick word for anyone with a newish Sony TV that has not signed up for this but is thinking of doing so... The promotional code is for the Quickflix site only. Sign up through the Quickflix site then go to https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com and enable the service for your tv.

Once you've done that, go into Network settings on your tv and select the "Refresh Internet Content" option. Enjoy :-)

Well i managed to sign up and after a quick download I've managed to start a movie and am watching Blackadder atm (well once I've finished this comment). I could not access Blackadder season 1 episode 1 kept getting a error about not being able to connect to the Quickflix servers.

As for the one off charge it's not a big price and if you use the free option for a 21 day trial then this is not charged until your first months bill so if your not happy cancel prior to that and still not be charged.

So far I'm quite happy I hope of course Xnet will make traffic unmetered so I can continue to support a non Sky owned monopolistic idea which is now going through final stages of becoming a partially government funded content provider if Igloo gets off the ground talk about kill competition.

I have the icon, but the issue is that you cannot log in.  maybe it was working earlier, but not now.  login just constantly returns as incorrect email/password, but works on pc fine.

Same thing happened to me. Registered as I thought that there would be more of a range once you had joined and signed in but was dissapointed to find there wasn't. Went to cancel and found they don't have an option through the actual website.
