Are we allowed to nominate people for euthanasia yet ?  :-(

I almost killed a child the other day while driving, not my fault, not the childs fault .. was the stupid mother/carer of the child!

She was driving the child to school, stopped at the side of the road, get's out and then thinks to herself "Now which side of the car should I open to let my child out ? ... I know I'll get her out on the road side, why should I walk all the way around my car to the footpath side to get her out safely, that's just too much effort!"

So out the kid jumps and falls over onto the road ... "Yay!" says me "10 easy points here I come!", luckily I was just creeping along in the queue of traffic and not going at any speed.

AAARRRGGGHHHH .. why do people do that ?  Do they not think ?!?

:-(

Some people can't think 10 seconds ahead...

We always had the child's seat on the footpath side - and we always made a point of opening the door for her.

+1 - too many people these days think getting knocked up and becoming a parent is a right - not the privilege it really is! They forget/ignore/don't care that they have responsibilities as a parent.

How do you know there wasn't an infant seat on the passenger side?

Perhaps the mother looked at the line of traffic moving at such a slow speed and considered it safe enough?

Personally, I've lifted the kids out of the car thousands of time and never had one fall out.

It sounds like a bit of an unusual thing to occur, euthanasia is a little over the top.

... it's what the Darwin Awards are for. Just a bit unfortunate that sometimes the candidate takes others with them :-(

But, if the candidate takes out genetic relatives then that is OK, because the offspring may likely contain the same genes.

Obviously a little emotionally over the top statement however the sentiment is about safety. No one plans an accident but surely opening the passenger side is a lot safer than the drivers side. You could do it a thousand times but you are taking an unnecessary risk with potential danger which you CANT control. An inattentive driver.

Have you ever considered your own genetic make up when you post idiotic comments like this?

ALL kids in my car get out on the footpath side. Doesn't matter if there are other car seats, they can get past. Drummed into them since they could work the handle. Kiddie locks rule.

We have two teenagers both of whom always get out on the passenger side if we park on the road as that is what we always taught them. If they have friends in the car so do they. It is just common sense and I have to agree that that the mum needs to show a bit more sense. Hopefully she got a fright and will in future get the child out on the passenger side.

I do not appreciate being abused and called idiotic thanks.

Isn't there some forum rules about such abuse?

I am not idiotic either, the darwin awards are about genetic lines that take themselves out of the gene pool.

The whole thing about darwin awards , is that people take their genes out of the gene pool.

Taking a blood relative out is also removing their own genes, but somewhat less efficiently.

I still don't see why you would call me idiotic for making such an observation.
