I wana get some bitcoins but I'm not sure if I should use bitnz (is there enough people using it for my trade to be matched up)  or something more mainstream like mtgox (how can I cheaply fund my account?). Any input or other suggestions?

Yeah I've got, ahh, 24 odd thousand bitcoins that I'm looking to pass on to the right kind of idi.. ah I mean customer that my 'cousin' sent to me the other day from his bitfloor.com account, very generous of him I thought! Cool

You could try a bitcoin exchange (although as alluded to, these are about as secure as putting all your cash in the letter box with the flag up), if there are any still running that haven't yet been hacked and cleared out that is. Otherwise mining them is a good idea if you have a lot of time on your hands.

Check out http://bitcoincharts.com/ for info on current prices in the markets and links to local (NZ and Aus) suppliers.

Whatever you do, if you get Bitcoins

1.Keep them in your wallet, don't deposit in an "online bank" because those are being breached left and right
2.Don't put them in a Ponzi Scheme. Those are for suckers.
