Doing a big clean out at home and have a heap of old IT books that I have no need for and they take up a lot of space. They are around the Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP days, also a few on CheckPoint, Exchange 2000 etc.

I have them on TradeMe for $1 starting otherwise they will get dumped.
I'd prefer not to dump them but don't know who would want or 'collect' old books.

What do you do with yours?

Hah, last winter everything pre 2008 went into the fireplace. Even taking depreciation into account it still must have been an expensive fire :P

Sally army got some of mine not too long ago. No doubt it goes to the recycler if it does not sell.

We just filled a skip bin with old IT books and cabling.I tried selling brand new (never used, still in original packaging) MCSE books for $1, no interest at all. So binned them.

Turn one into a switch which when pulled from the shelf causes your bookcase to swing out revealing a secret laboratory.

I've always wanted a secret laboratory.

I was thinking the same thing, I have a rather heavy box full of 2003 MCSE books that I'd rather see go to a good home than the recycling bin.

Hang onto them for a long, long time then have a read through when you need a few good laughs in your life.

Seriously, I don't think they have any use once they are really outdated (apart from the comedy value). Mine end up in recycling.

Just thought of one idea, we have an annual 24 hour book sale on here, will donate the books to them, then they can deal with getting rid of them.

Simple they get binned. Whats the point in keeping outdated manuals or trying to palm them off on someone else.
