The December ISP performance comparison is published on our site here;
https://www.truenet.co.nz/articles/isps-respond-truenet-monitoring

"TrueNet welcomes the competitive spirit that became evident during 2012 and has resulted in most ISPs achieving improved performance.  For 2013, TrueNet plans additional reports to ensure that ISPs consider factors other than Speed and Webpage downloads in their performance metrics."

My drafting expert tells me that the Speed chart this month "has a lot of white space" I agree, but this is due to the improved performance of all ISPs and increasing the scale would be false as any performance above 95% is great. I expect next month we will need to just list the good ones :-)

However, we will be expanding to include a new factor.  (likely to be Latency)

Any plans to include more detailed breakdown such as customers distance from exchange, if they have master filter properly installed or not and comparison of DSL CPE???

A Master Filter is something the vast majority of houses in NZ really should have IMHO.  Especially if they are further than 1KM from the exchange/cabinet.  Had a friends speed double (from 9mb to 18mb) after they had a master filter installed.  Working on a blog about exactly this issue when time permits.

I work for Telecom, but as always my views are my own.

I?d also be interested to see testing of video streaming quality.

Webpage time is important of course, but comparing differences of around 1s encompass almost every ISP (in some cases tenths of a second) this is surely immaterial?

It would be great to see how ISPs perform when streaming video from:
Youtube
Quickflix
Netflix
Igloo

Both for what bitrates they can cope with (which ISP performs best for streaming Netflix in HD, for example) and for consistency (i.e. which ISPs can you reliably stream an HD movie from at peak time and not have any pauses for buffering)

Etc and you could also compare those sites with each other as you did with banks.

@plambrechtsen, I can produce a distance to DSLAM at any time, but the data gets a bit out of date and I have not had much help from Chorus to get up-to-date data. What that means is that I have to check the distances before publishing and that is a lot of work, having said that I am in the process of doing that so that I can do a Modem/Router comparison - ie you DSL CPE

@NonprayingMantis I too would like to see Video testing - we are working on it :-) I have much of the setup, but not the resource - ie funding ( Igloo? missed that one )
