And from www.campbelllive.co.nz

Wednesday on Campbell Live
Waiting for broadband. You'd think by 2010 people who wanted more than just dial up at home could get it quickly. Well not in some parts of the country.

cranz: Perhaps not enough ports on exchange?

Had that happen here, took 3 months just for a landline..
and then still only on a temporary connection.

The gist I got of the ad was a long wait time for broadband to be connected, hence I thought of TelstraClear with the very long wait people have to get DSL connected (e.g homeplan launch FAIL)

From Campbell Live website, Home Page

Wednesday on Campbell Live

Waiting for broadband. You'd think by 2010 people who wanted more than just dial up at home could get it quickly. Well not in some parts of the country. We're in Rolleston 'the town of the future' and Albany, one of the fastest growing places in the country, where they've been waiting for months... and there's no guarantee they won't have to wait for years.

Apparently Telecom is the only provider of any service in the whole country.

edit: Oh, my sarcasm tag/smily fell off.

Does Vodafone or Orcon have an unbundled network in Albany?

Damn that I won't be home to watch this... and don't have PVR (bloody TelstraClear with their false promise of HomeMedia PVR!!!)

Anyone keen to record this? Or will it be on TV3 OnDemand as well?

We've unbundled half of Auckland (all we can unbundle) but then there's this - the Vodafone 3G mobile network which covers 97% of the population including Albany and Rolleston.

Then there's Kordia's Extend network (is that still around?) and Farmside's satellite service if you're properly distant...

Telecom's not the only game in town.

cheers

Paul

Are you living in the 1990's? Of course you can watch it online via the TV3 website. All of Campbel's shows are online and has been for many years.

Oh yeah, forgot about them... and Slingshot was doing something wirelessly up north. Not sure if that's still live.
